Hello, OV Families!

We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

Our family newsletters are published once a month this year instead of weekly. We will send reminders and updates as needed.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our office manager, Jamie Wright. You can reach her at WrightJL@mukilteo.wednet.edu.

"TREASURE TRADERS" STOCK MARKET CLUB STARTS TODAY!

We're excited to announce that our newest club, "Treasure Traders" Stock Market Club starts today and runs weekly.

"Treasure Traders" is a fun, hands-on after-school activity where students use virtual money to learn how the economy and investing work. Teams will learn about how the stock market works and develop strategies for virtual investing.

CLICK HERE for the clubs calendar. Remember to check it frequently as new clubs/start dates are added throughout the year.

Students must have purchased ASB membership ($15) in order to participate in any of our clubs or athletics. (Not sure if you purchased ASB membership? Message our bookkeeper, Katharine Chapman, in Schoology to find out.)

Participating students just show up--no sign-up needed for these clubs. Students can also check our week at-a-glance clubs bulletin board in the office to see which clubs are happening.

Clubs run from 2:45pm-4pm daily. Adviser will give participating students a bus pass if riding activity bus home. Bus pass is required to get on the bus. If you are picking up your student, please park in the lot and not in the front bus loop.

WORLD LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAM

Reminder! Our WLPE test is this Wednesday, November 4th starting in 1st period. Interested 8th graders must have already signed up to take this exam.

If your student signed up, they will receive a pass on Wednesday to report to the library or A107. Must be fluent in a language other than English (reads, writes, listens and speaks).

The Mukilteo School District wants to help students obtain high school credits they need to graduate by giving an opportunity to earn credits for a language they already know. Exams are available in more than 70 languages.

If your 8th grader is not ready this year or missed the sign-up, that's okay. The WLPE is offered annually, giving your student additional opportunities to strengthen skills and prepare for a future testing session.

Questions? Students should check in with their counselor, Wendy Smith.
