NATIONAL POETRY MONTH

April means it’s National Poetry Month! For nearly 30 years, libraries, classrooms, book stores, publishers and authors have been celebrating the humor, emotion, and experience that only a poem can reveal. Here at OV we not only share poems, but also novels in verse with students. These are stories told through the medium of poems, rather than prose (like in a typical novel). Some readers say there is more rhythm and imagery in a novel in verse than in a novel in prose. Students will also be creating their own poetry when they visit the library in the future. Please contact Mrs. Peterson if you would like more information!

8TH GRADE CELEBRATION UPDATE

Dear 8th Grade Families,
Help us make memories for our 8th graders! We need as many families as possible to donate just $10-$20 toward the 8th Grade Celebration. All funds go toward prizes, games and activities that all the students can enjoy. (Check out the donation progress below.)

Our parent planning committee has lots of ideas, including popcorn, pizza, games and fun prizes. The total amount of donations received will determine the budget--the more we collect, the bigger the party our 8th graders can have!

You can donate online or pay by cash or check:
Bring cash or checks to the OV Main Office or send with your students. (Make checks payable to OVMS and add "8th Grade Celebration on the memo line.)

To donate Online:
Go to https://wa-mukilteo.intouchreceipting.com/ and log in. (Use your same Qmlativ user name and password in the space where green arrow is pointing in picture below.)
