HELLO, 8TH GRADE FAMILIES!
Mark your calendars! We are gearing up for our school's annual 8th Grade Ceremony & Celebration. Please read this important information regarding the event and how you can help.

SAVE THE DATE!
Our 8th grade awards ceremony and celebration are set for Tuesday, June 17th starting at 6pm. Doors open at 5:30pm. Tickets are required and limited to four per family. Come early for best seats and parking!

Our 8th graders should wear "dressy casual" or "church-type clothes" to the 6pm ceremony. School dress code rules apply for both the ceremony & celebration. Students should bring a change of casual clothes for the student-only celebration from 7-9pm. Students can quickly change their clothes after the ceremony and give back their dress clothes to parents before leaving.

The 8th grade ceremony is not considered a “graduation" ceremony. Graduation is reserved for high school seniors. All students are recognized at the event by name in addition to some students earning special department awards and memorial awards. (We will notify families of students receiving these awards ahead of time.)

Leave the balloons at home. They block the view of others. We will not allow any balloons in the bleachers or standing-room area.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Let's help our 8th graders celebrate this milestone! To make the 8th Grade Celebration more accessible to all and to avoid charging for tickets, the planning committee is asking all 8th grade families to donate ($10 suggested) by April 30th.

The amount of donations received will determine the budget for planning the celebration so the more we collect, the bigger the party we can have! See the "Fundraising Meter" below for more info about how the committee will spend the donations.

Stretch your donation: If you're able to donate to support other families who might find this a hardship, please consider a $15 or $20 donation.

You can make your donation by cash or check (payable to: OVMS with 8th Grade Celebration on the note line) and drop off to the bookkeeper (Lori Koegler) in the main office.

You can also donate online:
  • Go to https://wa-mukilteo.intouchreceipting.com/.
  • Under “Shop” click “ITEMS AT STUDENT’S SCHOOL”
  • Click “8th GRADE CELEBRATION”
  • Enter the amount of the donation, then click “BUY”
  • Click “CHECKOUT”
  • Put in your payment info and click “PAY NOW.”

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE 8TH GRADE CELEBRATION!
