Hello, OV Families!

We hope you are enjoying the last weeks of your summer vacation with your family. We look forward to seeing our students at tomorrow's business day and on the first day of school. (More details below.)

IMPORTANT DATES

8/27: OV Back to School Business Day from 2-6pm
9/4: First Day of School for 6th graders only
9/5: First Day of School for 7th & 8th graders (plus 6th graders)

Office Hours & New Website Address

Our office is now open from 9am - 3pm. We will be back to our regular hours of 7:30am-4pm starting on Sept. 4th.

REMINDER--BACK TO SCHOOL BUSINESS DAY IS TOMORROW!

Joim us for our Back to School Business Day tomorrow (8/27) from 2-6pm.

Pick up tentative class schedules
Have school picture taken for yearbook and free ID card
Purchase PE clothes
Sign-up for lockers (7th & 8th); all 6th graders are automatically assigned a locker
Practice opening lockers
Go on self-guided tour to find classes
Check bus routes and pick-up/drop-off times
Meet our new nurse, Alyssa Richer, and drop off any immunization records or medications.

Schedule:

6th Grade: 2-3:30pm
7th Grade: 3:30-5:00pm
8th Grade: 4:30-6pm

More than one OV student in family? Come during the oldest student's time if possible.

Not able to make it to business day? No worries--students can have their picture taken on our retake day in October. All students will pick up their final schedules on their first day of school. PE clothes can be purchased throughout the school year.

BUSINESS DAY--PURCHASE SCHOOL PHOTOS (optional)

All students need to get their picture taken at business day (or on October makeup day) for the yearbook and their FREE ID card.

Want to purchase school photos (optional) from business day? Scan the QR code or visit mydorian.com, search for Olympic View Middle, and click on the green "order" button. You can order online now or for up to four days after picture day.

OV ONLINE STORE

Want to skip some lines at business day? Check out our online store. Order PE clothes and buy ASB (needed to participate in athletics or clubs). You can purchase PE clothes, pay for ASB (needed to participate in athletics and clubs), buy a yearbook and pay any fines.

PE clothes will be distributed by PE teachers during the first week of school--no need to worry about ordering specific sizes. The teachers will help students decide.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

IMPORTANT! The first day of school on Wednesday, September 4th is ONLY FOR OUR 6TH GRADERS from 8:05am-2:45pm.

Our 7th and 8th graders will come to school on Thursday, September 5th and NOT on 9/4. (All grades will be here on 9/5 from 8:05am-2:45pm.)

All students will need to pick up their final class schedule on their first day.

LOCKER INFO

All 6th graders are assigned their own locker. Locker assignments and combinations for 6th graders will be printed on schedules.

If 7th or 8th graders would like a locker, they need to sign up by filling out a quick form at the locker station (main floor A building) on business day or stop by Mrs. Wright's desk in the office any time during the year. (Students that sign up on business day will immediately get a locker.)

6th Grade: A building (main floor)

7th Grade: A building (2nd floor)

8th Grade & Connections Students: E building

LOCKER ISSUES

Have a student with locker issues (jammed, needs a lower locker, etc.)? Scan this QR code and fill out the info.

Our administrative assistant, Mrs. Wright, or our custodian, Mr. Scheldt, will either fix the locker or assign student to different locker if needed. Message will be sent to student in Schoology once locker is ready.

SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST

Here are the required school supplies for the 2024-2025 school year:

Backpack (large enough to hold laptop, binder & textbooks)
2" 3-ring binder
5-10 Composition notebooks

Students will need to have the binder with them on their first days of school. Teachers will be helping students set up their binders with their school-supplied dividers, so it's very important that all students have one to use.

Volunteering at OV

Planning on volunteering at OV this year? We would love your help! CLICK HERE to fill out the district's new online volunteer application. Clearance is good for two years. Call our office manager, Jamie Wright, at (425) 366-5210 if you have any questions.

OV PTO

What is OV PTO? Olympic View Middle School PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) has a simple mission to assist students, staff, and families at Olympic View.

OV PTO sponsors many events throughout the school year!

Come see the PTO during Business Day on Tuesday, August 27th from 2-6pm in the auxiliary gym! They will be handing out free chips to students, while supplies last.
