Green and white graphic promoting Curriculum Night, with a pirate-like mascot.
All Olympic View parents and guardians are invited to join us for Curriculum Night tomorrow (10/7), starting at 6:00pm in the OV gym.

Your student should be bringing home a green paper today with a letter from our principal on one side and a blank schedule on the back.
  • HOMEWORK: Have your student fill out their schedule and give it to you.
  • PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Bring your completed schedule tomorrow evening so you can follow your student's schedule. (If you forget it, we’ll have printed schedules available as a back-up.)

The evening will begin with a special welcome from our principal and PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) in the gym. Afterward, parents and guardians will follow a shortened version of their student’s schedule—visiting each class period for 10 minutes.

This is a great opportunity to meet your student’s teachers and counselors while getting a glimpse of their school day. Hope to see you there!

NOTE: This event is for parents/guardians only. OV students may attend only if they are officially assisting their family with translation.

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey 2025

Logo for the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey, with text and a star.
Our school is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2025. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 in the Mukilteo School District. Our 6th and 8th graders will be taking the survey in their PE classes on Monday, October 13th.

The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, interpersonal relationships, school experiences, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services.

Survey results are used by schools, communities, and State agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and steps are taken to ensure student privacy. There are no names or codes used to link a survey back to a student.

Please read the attached Information for Parents/Guardians and Youth Letter for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey.

ENERGY DRINKS

Infographic showing popular energy drinks and their potential health effects.
Our staff have been noticing more students bringing energy drinks to school. Energy drinks are not allowed at school because they contain very high amounts of caffeine, sugar, and other stimulants that can be harmful to your child's health-especially for growing kids and teens.

Drinking energy drinks can cause problems like a fast heartbeat, high blood pressure, anxiety, trouble sleeping, headaches, and even more serious issues like dehydration or seizures. The American Academy of Pediatrics and other health experts say that energy drinks are not safe for children and teenagers, and recommend avoiding them entirely.

Instead of energy drinks, encourage your student to choose healthy options like water, milk, or 100% juice to stay hydrated and energized throughout the school day.

Remember, your child's body and brain are still growing, and making healthy choices now will help your student feel his/her best!

The words 'LIBRARY NEWS' are displayed over a blurred background of bookshelves.
Books checked out from the OV library have a 14-day loan period. Students should return or renew books every two weeks. For convenience, each student visits the library with their ELA class every other week. Today, overdue notices were delivered to students in their 1st period classes—please ask your student if they received one. Students can also check their library accounts online (see how-to video). If your student needs to renew a book, they can message Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Jensen in Schoology.
