SUN BUCKS

Washington State’s SUN Bucks program is back for 2025. SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, is a program that helps families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families will get a one-time $120 benefit per year for each eligible child to help buy groceries during the summer months. Nearly 600,000 Washington children received SUN Bucks over the summer of 2024.

  • If you are currently individually qualified for Free and Reduced Lunch at school, you will want to make sure your address is up-to-date in our system for when the SUN Bucks cards are mailed out.

LIBRARY INFO

While the library is closed during the school day for make-up testing (for students who have been absent or didn’t finish testing in their classroom), we are filling holds students place on books and delivering to non-testing classrooms.

Students are also welcome to visit the library in the mornings before school most days in order to check out books. If students need to return any books, they can use the bin outside the library door. Thank you!

8TH GRADE CEREMONY & CELEBRATION UPDATE

What: Olympic View Middle School 8th Grade Ceremony and Celebration

Where: Olympic View Middle School Gym, 2602 Mukilteo Speedway, Mukilteo, WA 98275

When: Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 6 pm

Details: Doors open at 5:30 pm. Come early to get a good parking spot. Each family will receive four tickets. We’ll send the tickets home with your student on Friday, June 13th. The ticket doesn’t guarantee seating. First come, first serve! Our 8th graders should wear "dressy casual" or "church-type clothes" to the 6pm ceremony. School dress code rules apply for both the ceremony & celebration. Please leave the balloons at home. They block the view of others during the ceremony.

OV 8th Graders Only--Celebration: Students should bring a change of clothes for after the ceremony. Students will get a passport to stamp each destination (games) they visit at the party. We will have pizza, drinks and lots of treats to enjoy as well. There will also be a 3-on-3 basketball tournament plus a craft station for those who prefer peace and quiet. Once the clock strikes 9 pm, prepare for departure as this ship has sailed.

Parent Shipmates Needed: While this event is for our newly minted freshmen (gasp, how?!), we’re looking for some parent volunteers to help run the celebration, and no training is required! Please help us prevent a mutiny on the ship by volunteering a couple hours of your time. We really could use help with cleaning up after and running the stations during the after party. Your parent-run committee has been swabbing the deck since February and would really appreciate the support. Please email our 8th grade celebration chairperson, Frances Blauvelt if you can help: francesklin@gmail.com. Arrrrr, thank you, matey!
