Join us for an afternoon filled with fun activities, including a dance with a DJ, bingo games, open gym time, and creative crafts. This event is free to attend, but snacks will be available for purchase, so bring some cash! (Event is for OV students only--no siblings or students from other schools.)

There are NO ACTIVITY BUSES, so families must arrange transportation ahead of time. All students must be picked up promptly at 4 PM.

MESSAGE FROM OUR 6TH GRADE LEARNING LABS COORDINATOR, FRANKEE PROFITT:
Thank you for teaming with us to make sure 6th grade students achieve academic success. As your child’s most important teacher, they need your support, too.
1.   Basic Math Fact testing is complete! Please ask to see your student’s papers and discuss their scores at home. Students test again on the 1st of every month. Please work with them on brushing up.
2.   After school LEARNING LAB takes place MON-THURS in room C143 with an activity bus going home at 4:00. All 6th Grade students are invited to work on homework, receive tutoring, and brush up on skills in our lab.
3.   Please login to Schoology every week so you can keep up-to-date with your student’s grades and assignments.
  • Signing in for the first time? Call the school at (425) 366-5200 and ask for your Parent Schoology Account Code. Once you have the code, CLICK HERE.
  • Already registered with your parent code? CLICK HERE to get logged in to your parent account.
4.   We have given out two “Award Certificates” to date: on October 1st and 15th, to celebrate all 6th grade students earning A, B, C grades. We will award students every other week for maintaining or bringing up their grades!
5.   “Action Plan” meetings begin this week during lunch, for students earning one or more N grade. We will discuss issues with homework, create an action plan, and get students to make a commitment to improving their grades. You will also receive an email from us anytime your student receives a D or N grade. These meetings continue weekly for all D/N students until the end of the year.

All 6th grade students are invited to attend our After-School Academic Success Learning Lab (in the PE Health room-C143), Monday thru Thursday for homework support and individual tutoring. Students can ride the activity bus home (must live in bus boundary). Students can find Ms. Jan and Ms. Frankee in room D3 during the day if they would like to know more!
ELECT TO LEARN FOR 7TH & 8TH GRADERS
Elect to Learn (ETL) is an intervention designed to promote academic responsibility and effort. It is held in the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 2:45-4pm.

ETL is open to all 7th and 8th graders who want extra help on assignments or who need a quiet place to study, make-up past assignments, get help from a staff member and complete homework. Students may also read novels and use computers for classwork, not games. This quiet study time allows students to move toward success in their learning at Olympic View.
ACTIVITY BUSES AVAILABLE FOR LEARNING LABS & ETL
Activity buses are available for students to ride home at 4pm (must live in bus boundary). In order for staff to direct students to the correct bus, make sure students know their address. (Pro tip--have student write address in their planner.)
