no backpacks

Starting June 20th until the last day of school, students should NOT bring their backpacks or laptops to school. Small sling bags are permitted for personal items. Any backpacks brought to campus will be confiscated and stored in our conference room for the day.

Please help us remind the students.

Thanks to everyone who has already turned in their library books for the year! Notices were sent out in students’ English classes today regarding any overdue books or fines. All lost or damaged library books can be paid for in the bookkeeper’s office. If you find an Olympic View library book in the future (this summer or even next year!), do not hesitate to return it to us. My saying is, “It’s never too late to turn in a library book!”

Happy Summer, and happy reading just for fun!

USEFUL INFORMATION

FREE SUMMER MEALS 2024

Meals will be available at no charge for children 18 years of age and younger at the following locations this summer:

Meals will also be available to students attending the following programs:

DO YOUR STUDENTS OWE FEES/FINES?

As the end of the school year approaches, it's a good idea to check if your student has any fees or fines. There might be charges for lost or damaged books, club fees, or unreturned athletic uniforms. Any fines and fees carry over from year to year, so it’s best to clear these up now.

Please click HERE to check your student’s account.

Email our bookkeeper, Mrs. Koegler, with any questions.

NOT RETURNING TO OV NEXT YEAR?

If you know that your student will not be returning to Olympic View for the next school year (2024-2025) due to a family move or other circumstances, please email our school Registrar, Mrs. Mejia, or call 425-366-5211. Reach out at your earliest convenience.

SUN BUCKS Summer EBT Program

Students who are eligible for free & reduced lunch may receive SUN BUCKS this summer to help with food. There is a one-time payment of $120 for each eligible child on a dedicated SUN bucks card. The cards will be issued starting in mid-June through end of August and will expire 122 days from date of issuance. Sun Bucks card is similar to P-EBT cards of the past and will be sent separate from SNAP benefits. For more information, please visit the "Washington SUN Bucks Summer EBT Program" page.

Goodbye from your Family Engagement Liaison 👋

Greetings OV Families!

It's your Family Engagement Liaison, Loren Suwana Poisel. It has been an honor to serve the OV Community for the past 2 years. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, my contract will not be renewed next year. I don't know what my next professional adventure will be, but I am excited to find out.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone in the OV Community. I am truly going to miss the students (so many memories) and the connections I have built over the years. Believe it or not, I will also miss composing the weekly newsletter for you.

As a mom to two OV alumni, rest assured that your students are in good hands.

Have a great summer and a fantastic school year next year!

OV COUNSELORS 2025 - 2026

Here are your counselors for the NEXT school year
Students are assigned to the same counselors as they progress through grade levels.

This continuity ensures that they can build and maintain connections and support throughout their time at OVMS.

A Message from Your Student Support Advocate

Summer is finally here!

It has been a pleasure working with you and your students to assist with providing support in the areas of housing, food scarcity, social emotional support, counseling and community resource navigation. During the summer months our Mukilteo School District team of Student Support Advocates (SSA’s) has a “Summer Hotline” for students and/or families that are in need of assistance with community resources navigation. The SSA Summer Hotline is (425)366-KIDS (5437). The hotline will be checked Monday-Friday during summer months, messages will be checked daily by one of our district Student Support Advocates and phone calls will be returned in the order in which they are received. Remember that you can also dial 2-1-1 from your phone to be connected to WA211, the number one resource line in Washington State.

I wish all of you a safe and fun summer vacation, see you in September!
